Participants will also have regular one-on-one support meetings with licensed peer support specialists.

Participants will complete four weeks of aftercare planning and are required to complete 40 hours of community service before commencing the program.

Program Highlights

Participants will obtain a sponsor and work the 12-Steps with that sponsor.

Participants will be given all appropriate and necessary literature at their intake and will complete studies, workbook assignments, and actively participate in meetings.

Participants will become involved with the recovery community. Our goal is to foster a sense of belonging through support and fellowship.

Participants will be encouraged to carry the message to those that are still suffering.

Laboratory Drug Screening

Participants will undergo supervised, random, and often (three times monthly minimum) drug testing.

  • Testing is done through Gravity Diagnostics Laboratory. Serenity Recovery has full time employee of Gravity Diagnostics that will order, administer, and supervise all testing.

  • In the event a client does not have insurance or Medicaid, they will be enrolled in the appropriate program immediately following their assessment interview to cover the cost of drug testing. In the event insurance cannot be secured, drug testing costs are to be paid for by the client.

Serenity Recovery Alumni

When I walked into Serenity Recovery in August of 2024, I had just lost my dad to suicide, lost custody of my children, and was fresh out of jail for the first time. I was spiritually, emotionally, and physically broken—grieving, ashamed, and unsure how to move forward. Completing the program in August of 2025 marked a turning point I never thought possible. With Serenity’s support and structure, I’ve maintained 20 months of sobriety, regained full custody of my four children with my husband Terry, and built a stable, loving home. I’m now on low probation supervision, have my driver’s license back, and hold a certification as a peer support specialist, facilitating workbook groups that guide others through the 12 steps. I began sponsoring women during my time in the program and continue to do so, finding deep fulfillment in helping others. Today, I’m proud to work as the Administrative Assistant at Serenity Recovery and volunteer as the Alumni Coordinator, giving back to the place that helped me rediscover hope, healing, and purpose. If you’re wondering whether change is possible—believe me, it is. — Patty

Founding Board Member

Executive Director

As one of the founding members of Serenity Recovery and now serving as Executive Director, Holly Cherry continues to give selflessly—sharing with others the same hope and guidance her sponsor once gave to her. A person in long-term recovery, Holly lives by spiritual principles and actively contributes to the flow of life through service and compassion. She describes herself as now being the woman God intended her to be, living out her purpose with passion and grace.

In addition to her work with Serenity Recovery, Holly serves as Chairperson of the Board at Turning Point Ministries, formerly held the role of Transitional Living Director at Neartown Recovery, and is now a founding Board Member of the newly formed Second Chance Workforce. Her commitment to transformation and healing reaches far beyond organizational boundaries.

“To say, ‘I have been blessed’ is an understatement,” Holly shares. “This life became possible because I chose to get honest, stay open-minded, and take the necessary action. Today, I’m filled with the Spirit of the Universe and love without boundaries or judgment—and it’s a beautiful thing.”
